And the Rain Falls Down Preparations

In the last week before we start rehearsals, all our attention has been on getting ready for And the Rain Falls Down.Sam started the week in Nottingham, running the first of her workshops for schools and nurseries. Thanks to all the team at Lakeside Arts Centre for making that happen. It was also a week of production meetings and design conversations as we prepared to bring our set into the rehearsal room. Ali, Beth, Sam Evans and the van started bright and early on Thursday in preparation for rehearsals starting on Monday. I was there a little later (!) with a video camera to try and capture the whole thing in time-lapse. More about that next week… if it worked! We managed to find 10 minutes for David and Sam to share their thoughts on creating theatre for children. If it’s something you’ve ever thought about doing, or something you want to know more about, their short video is a great start to understanding the approach that has given Fevered Sleep such a strong reputation. Feel free to share your views in the comments section.Thursday was also costume shopping day. David, Sam and our performers Carl and Karina took to Oxford Street in search of the perfect style for the show. There’s bag of goodies sitting in the office just waiting to get wet… then dry… then wet again… from now until the end of April! All the while Hannah, our Project Assistant, has been carefully copying, cutting, stitching and folding to put together our Teacher’s Resource Pack. An on line version of the pack will be available for everyone to download from early February.Back next week for more!
